SPARK Educator Training Workshop Application

Welcome Educators

Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is hosting an 2.5 day educator training workshop, July 1-3, 2024 for teachers interested in becoming mentors for the Student Partnerships for Advanced Research and Knowledge (SPARK) Program. This training is centered on the development of student research projects in spectroscopy and protein crystallography at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II). High school biology, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics, and research educators are invited to apply. 

To be considered, please register online. There is no charge to participate in the workshop. To participate in the workshop, the school district must have a signed non-proprietary user agreement with BNL. Many school districts/Institutions have user agreements in place; a sample user agreement is available for those who do not.

Notification of Selection: May 30, 2024

Note: This event falls under Exemption D (Formal classroom training held at Federal facilities, which does not exhibit indicia of a formal conference as outlined in the Conference/Event Exemption Request Form.) Participation is contingent on application acceptance.
